A deeper understanding of Wing Chun Kuen was shared on May 17, 2026 as Sifu Chua conducted a special 2-hour workshop exploring the often-overlooked connection between Biu Jee and the traditional weapons of the system.

Attended by students, senior practitioners, and instructors, the session went beyond technical movements to reveal how the principles embedded within the Butterfly Swords and Long Pole can already be found within the advanced concepts of Biu Jee. Participants were guided through the relationship between body structure, power generation, angles, recovery techniques, and emergency responses that connect the empty-hand form to the weapons curriculum.

What made the workshop particularly insightful was the emphasis on preserving traditional knowledge and understanding Wing Chun as a complete system rather than a collection of separate forms. Through demonstrations, explanations, and practical exercises, attendees gained a deeper appreciation of how the weapons serve not only as combat tools but also as extensions of the concepts developed throughout the Wing Chun journey.

The workshop sparked engaging discussions among participants and provided valuable perspectives for practitioners at different stages of training. It was a reminder that within traditional Wing Chun, every form and every weapon is interconnected, with Biu Jee serving as a crucial bridge to the higher-level principles of the art.

A meaningful afternoon of learning, reflection, and preservation of traditional Wing Chun culture.
