Wing Chun Kuen Training Centre was invited to participate in Maris Stella High Cultural Exchange hosted over a week in celebration of the Chinese New Year. On February 12, 2026, Wing Chun Kuen was the highlight of the day at Maris Stella High School.

We were pleasantly surprised that the School broadcasted a clip during the morning Assembly featuring one of our Shi Shu from the Traditional Fujian Wing Chun Kuen in Fujian. The students also clarified that the rightful origin of Wing Chun Kuen is Fujian, contrary to the popular belief that it originated in Guangdong, China Our WCKTC seniors and instructors were then invited on stage to showcase the basic forms and butterfly sword forms. The hallmarks of the performance was none other than the Blindfold Chisau that captured the imagination and excitement of the students.

Staff and students were able to create their own personal experience of Wing Chun Kuen during the 2 recess breaks at the Experiential hall of the School with our WCKTC seniors and instructors. They were instantly thrilled when they saw the 2 wooden dummies stationed in the hall and could not wait to try their hands on them. The students were sweet and patient where they queued up orderly and followed the instructions attentively as we conduct simple trainings for them. Some students with a background in Wushu were especially curious about the mechanics of Wing Chun Kuen.

All in all, everyone had great fun, especially when both students and staff were able to execute the power of the basic Wing Chun Kuen movements.
