Sifu Chua faithfully lead a team of his students to our HQ in Changle, China to attend the annual ceremonial students induction to the lineage of Fujian Traditional Wing Chun Kuen.
This time round, Sifu Chua personally represented the Singapore branch of the Fujian Traditional Wing Chun Kuen and perform at the ceremonial night celebration. Our Sigung Joseph Cheng was so delighted by Sifu Chua's personal participation that he went up to the stage to express his jubilation!
As usual we always add a leg of China's exploration after the ceremony. This year, we embark on the trail of Wudangshan, 武当山。
Sifu has invited Sifu Ling who is an expert in Taiji for a friendly exchange at WCKTC. Sifu Ling is also an avid practitioner of Wing Chun, while also a renowned Osteopathic Physician with a clicnic of his own.
Sifu Ling brought his students and along with 2 other Taiji masters who are also teaching Taiji. WCKTC students who attended the Exchange had a great time learning and testing their skills with Sifu Ling's team.
The exchange session ended on a high note where everyone was reluctant to leave until there is an intention to plan for the next session. Thank you Sifu! Thank you Sifu Ling and your great team!
More than 50 students attended the Sifu Chua's commemorative 70th birthday celebration at the signature restaurant in SIA Club. Every students extended their unique heartfelt gesture in congratulating Sifu Chua for crossing the milestone of 70 years old. and all look forward for more guidance from Sifu Chua's robust knowledge and rich experience whether in martial art or the 正中 way of life.
The sparring competition 2018 was the first of its kind to be held by WCKTC where participants are engaged in a 3 rounds of free format fight. The unique difference of this free format fight is that participants controlled their attacks where the main focus is to launch a clear punch and kick with no recourse from the opponent.
Sifu Chua led a team of his students to Changle, Fujian on June 8, 2018 to attend the inaugural ceremony that is held twice annually to induct students from all over the world into the official lineage of Grandmaster Joseph Cheng which is recognized by the Fujian Municipal of China.
Students who went for the induction also had a special Nachako training by one of our Shi Shu (师叔） , who is renowned for his excel Nachako skill. Not forgetting to explore China, Sifu Chua and his students also went to Wuyi Mountain for its mesmerizing scenery.
Promoting students interest in Chinese culture, Maris Stella High has organized an International Martial Arts Fair where they have invited four martial arts discipline - Silat, Wing Chun Kuen, Akido and Tae Kwon Do.
At the Fair, each martial art discipline introduce their art through a short performance on the stage with an overview summary narrated by their student emcee. From Secondary One to Four, the students were awe by the performances and also they have fun interacting with all the arts at each respective martial art zone.
It was the first time that Police Intelligence Department invited us to celebrate Chinese New Year with them. In the celebration, we introduce Wing Chun Kuen to them through a performance of the Wing Chun Kuen forms, the drills and the application through a fight sequence.
This is the first competition held at Midview WCKTC. There were 2 competitions hosted before this at the previous Lavendar WCKTC.
The competition was held as a platform for the students of WCKTC to pit their Wing Chun Kuen skills against each other. This was done within the guidelines that call for the strict execution of Wing Chun Kuen forms in 3 scenarios - as an attacker, as a defender and lastly on who can control the opponent better.
